New Farmers Market in Roselle Brings Fresh Produce to Residents

Roselle residents now have the opportunity to pick up fresh produce every week at the borough’s first-ever farmers market.

The market - featuring fresh vegetables, fruits and baked goods from Alstede Farm in Chester - is open every Friday through October 20 from 1-6 p.m. in the borough parking lot at Third Avenue and Chestnut Street.

“We are pleased to provide more local access to healthy and organic options to our residents while supporting a New Jersey farmer,” said Mayor Donald Shaw. “This first-ever market builds off of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign to create a healthy and happier Borough.”

The launch of the first farmers market also expands Roselle’s involvement with the Neighborhood Preservation Program which supports the entire downtown area.

“We are excited about our new partnership with Alstede Farms and the many opportunities it will present for our community, including taking our kids to visit the farm for fun events and to learn more about the state’s agriculture industry,” said Councilwoman-at-Large Denise Wilkerson. “This is a win-win situation for our Borough. We hope residents visit the market to explore what is new each week.”

Since 1982, the Alstede Farm family has been growing local, healthy and nutritious food in Morris County. Learn more at www.alstedefarms.com.
