Statement from Mayor Donald Shaw

"We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Keymar Hart, a longtime resident and dedicated uncle supporting his nephew at the annual Father & Son Basketball Tournament over the weekend. Keymar was enormously dedicated to his family, friends and students; he will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. Keymar served as a committed teacher for Elizabeth Public Schools as well as a substitute teacher for the Roselle Schools.

On behalf of the Borough Council, as well as the many volunteers who organized the tournament, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Keymar’s family for such a devastating loss. Our prayers are with all community members affected by this tragedy."
