Roselle's Be Cool at School' Giveaway Returns September 10

Students Are Encouraged to Stop by for Free Ices

All Roselle students are invited to celebrate the start of the new school year with “Be Cool at School,” hosted at the local public library on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at 3 p.m.

The event will feature free Rita’s Italian ices for students on a first-come, first-served basis as the perfect treat to start the school year. The Roselle Public Library is located at 104 W. 4th Avenue.

“We hope that all students come out to celebrate this new school year at the annual ‘Be Cool at School’ Italian ice giveaway,” said Mayor Donald Shaw. “I’d also like to thank the Rita’s of Roselle for donating their time and being a great community partner.”

This program is sponsored by Mayor Shaw and the Roselle Borough Council, the Roselle Recreation Department, and the Roselle Library. The annual program was started by former Councilwoman Kim Shaw.

“This event is another great way to get our students excited about the start of school while bringing together the community to support them,” said Council President Denise Wilkerson. “I’m glad to see this event created by Kim Shaw will continue. We encourage all to come out and enjoy!”

Students will also have the chance to sign up for a library card and review the library’s resources to help supplement the learning through the schools.
