Borough of Roselle & Local PBA Host Meal Distribution

The Borough of Roselle, in partnership with PBA Local No. 99, distributed 150 meals to residents in need on July 30, 2021.

Through this event, local restaurant Wei’s Buffet, located on East First Avenue, cooked a variety of meals including shrimp, chicken, vegetables and rice to distribute to residents.

The Borough participated in a program run by SoupKitchen411, labeled FeedNJ.

“We took this opportunity to help members of our community in need,” said Patrol Officer John Leshko. “PBA Local #99 is always looking for ways to help the community we serve on a daily basis. We would also like to thank Wei’s Buffet for the food supplied, the employees of the Borough of Roselle, Mayor Shaw and Rev. Atkins for helping and assisting with this event.”

The meals were distributed by Roselle Mayor Donald Shaw, Rev. Reginald Atkins, PBA President Carlos Gonzalez, Owner of Wei’s Buffet Wei Yeung, Council President Denise Wilkerson, Assistant to the Mayor Nidian Ruiz and officers Leshko and Juan Papica at Borough Hall, 210 Chestnut Street.

“I am proud to have been a part of this much-needed meal distribution. I appreciate the efforts of our local PBA, Rev. Atkins and Wei’s Buffet for bringing this event to Roselle,” added Mayor Shaw.

Members of the PBA that also volunteered include Detective Ivan Romero along with Officers Edouard, Ralph Rivera, Jessica Leiva, Herve Vilaire and Edith France.
